Accomplishment Research International was founded by Bob Young, a former Group President at The Lockheed Corporation. Bob sees increasing change and mounting complexity as critical new challenges that few have learned to cope with. He sees our tradition of cicumstance determined action as becoming less effective as our ability to adapt to changing circumstances is having more and more trouble keeping up. Bob's own experience building his career and business success on choice determined action has convinced him it's time for more of us to learn we don't have to be boxed in by the traditions we grew up with.
Bob has a track record of outstanding personal and organizational success. He graduated last in his class of over 600 from high school yet rose to lead a high technology organization of more than 20,000 people at Lockheed. As a CEO he turned around a shrinking $30 Million company to growing over 1000% to more than $325 Million. He kept the same management team that was in place during its six year decline and did not terminate any employees. He led a corporate team to the unprecedented win of the $15 Billion NASA Space Shuttle Processing Contract and his company to winning a national quality and productivity award among many other successes.
It's easy to see that keeping the lifestyle they've got is more important to most people than creating a new one. Said another way, avoiding losses is more important than gaining benefits. Nearly everyday we see it's easier to build a coalition of people against something than for something. It's important to notice that what people are against is almost always found in circumstances they don't like and what people are for hasn't become manifest in circumstances yet. Showing people the power of choice determined action in a world dominated by cicumstance determined action is a challenge that can't be ignored as the change rate continues to increase and complexity contiues to mount.
