ABOUT BOB YOUNG

Bob began his career with no natural advantages. He grew up in a small wyoming town of less than 700 people, none of hisPhoto of Bob Young family had gotten a college degree, his parents divorced, he moved to Detroit (a huge city) for his junior year in high school and moved to Nashville for his senior year. His high school counselor in Nashville told him he graduated last in his class of over 600 and not to waste his time or money trying to go to college. Yet despite an undistinguished beginning, he eventually became a Group President at the Lockheed Corporation leading a high technology organization of more than 20,000 people.

As a company president, Bob took over leadership of a $30 Million company that had been shrinking in sales and earnings for nearly 6 years. He turned it around to growing over 1000% to more than $325 Million in sales and even more in earnings in less than ten years with no change in the management team or workforce that had been in place during the decline. His company won a national quality and productivity award, and developed a marketing prowess seldom seen in their industry. He personally led a highly successful culture change project that included leading leadership training seminars two weekends a month for almost eight years. Bob also led a corporate team to the unprecedented win of the $15 Billion NASA Space Shuttle Processing Contract.

Bob has been an active community leader and received numerous awards including recognition by two former United States Presidents. He has given hundreds of talks to community organizations, professional associations, government organizations, many companies and numerous universities.
