Attempts to understand accomplishment over the years have been centered on studying circumstances in order to learn what causes them so we can control them.  Now we are finding ourselves in a world where circumstances are changing faster than we can keep up and confusion and uncertainty are regular companions of our accomplishment efforts.

We have entered a time when simply finding new ways to deal with changing circumstances is not enough.  The old thinking that tied our success to understanding and controlling circumstances can no longer be relied on.  The emergence of new thinking that embraces fast moving change as an opportunity instead of as a problem calls for new accomplishment abilities that uncouple our success from our circumstances.

Adopting new thinking that assumes our world is like a blank canvas, instead of sticking with traditional thinking that assumes the world is like a big machine violates what most of us have been taught.  It calls for new and advanced accomplishment abilities and developing abilities like that is not something most of us know how to do.

Explaining the value of a shift  in accomplishment thinking to people who don't see a problem can be expected to fall on deaf ears.  Claims that there is accomplishment thinking that produces stunning results are easily dismissed as hype.  Even so, anyone who looks carefully at the extraordinary results produced with advanced accomplishment thinking will not be able to ignore that something unexpected has happened.
